'The Exorcist: Martyrs' Trailer Radically Reboots Franchise With Scarlett Johansson - The Hollywood Reporter

Scarlett Johansson Hunts a Demonic Killer in The Exorcist Martyrs

A trailer for "The Exorcist: Martyrs" made its debut Friday at New York Comic Con, with Scarlett Johansson playing a character tracking a demonic killer. The film is directed by Mike Flanagan and acts as both a sequel and a reboot of the long-running horror franchise.

Flanagan says the project leans into "The Exorcist III" and describes it as the scariest thing he has ever made. He told reporters the film was built to unsettle audiences and that it made him wildly uncomfortable during production.
