Jacob Coxon, alignment lead at Anthropic, has resigned. He issued a warning that artificial intelligence carries serious risks.
Coxon said there is more than a 10 percent chance that AI could cause all humans to die by the next decade. He characterised ongoing AI development as a gamble involving human lives.
Coxon also called the technology beyond control. His departure has drawn attention. The resignation follows his warnings about serious AI risks.
Evan Hubinger, a colleague at Anthropic, has likewise been noted.
