Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was useless and insisted on exiting. Harris told Variety, 'firmly Get me the f- out of here' as he exited the set. He later decided to return for Season 2 to come back for the next season. The show’s boss reworked the story and gave his character additional depth. That change prompted Harris opt to stay. Deadline now says he will reprise the character.
