Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, disrupting local traffic. Wildfire activity rendered both lanes impassable, halting travel. Travellers now solely use the Coquihalla Highway, bypassing the closure. The fire near Hope flames northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, producing thick smoke. Smoke is heavy and readily to see, reducing visibility. A second blaze broke out south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It compelled officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now impeded.
