Members of Parliament have advocated reforming the BBC's funding model. They suggest cutting costs and broadening financial support to cover areas outside of television. MPs also propose abolishing the BBC's charter process and stopping the broadcaster from undercutting commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to address the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a key turning point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's next steps.
