Technicians left a 33-centimeter service light in the wing of a Qantas Airbus A380. The ATSB revealed that the jet flew for two days with the work light inside before anyone found it. The 33-centimeter lamp stayed in the wing during those flights as the Qantas jet functioned.
The Qantas Airbus A380 journeyed to Texas and back while the tool remained inside the wing. Engineers left the device inside the aircraft wing during maintenance work. The aircraft completed its flights to Texas and back over two days before someone discovered the work light in the wing.
